“I truly, with all my heart, believe that we are designed for healing, for health, and vitality. And a lot of our culture is built around the opposite of that.”

Dr. Ryan Nickens, DC originally was headed toward medical school, but a chance conversation with a chiropractor at his church in Tampa changed the trajectory of his life entirely.

At a young age, Dr. Nickens suffered an accident that left him with chronic, severe migraines. The only way he was able to address the pain was painkillers. However, when Dr. Nickens received his first chiropractic adjustment, he experienced immediate and permanent relief, which dramatically improved his quality of life. He was finally freed from headaches, and his body felt better too.

This experience, combined with his background in personal training and understanding of the human body’s movement patterns, cemented his decision to pivot away from his initial path to medical school and become a chiropractor instead. He wanted to help people get off of medication and move better.

After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2013, Dr. Nickens opened his first practice in Fort Myers, Florida. An expert in advanced spinal correction, scoliosis care, pediatrics, and lifestyle modification, he has taught at over 20 churches, 100s of businesses, and schools and traveled to Rio with Team USA.

Dr Nickens believes that our bodies are unbelievably intelligent. He has seen countless miracles from chiropractic, nutrition, and honoring our innate, inborn ability to heal.

Armed with advanced training in Clinical Nutrition, Internal and Functional Medicine, Dr. Nickens stresses the importance of taking a holistic approach to dig deep and determine the root causes of a person’s health challenges. Whether itis your nervous system, gut health, neurotransmitters, or something else, he recognizes how vital it is to look at the whole person.

Dr. Nickens and his wife (another chiropractor) Amber, their two kids, and two dogs sold their practice in Florida to move to Colorado to be closer to family (2 months before Hurricane Ian destroyed the area…phew!). In their free time, the Nickens family enjoys numerous outdoor pursuits, including hiking, camping, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, climbing, and paddling.
